Go-Kart Troubles After Midnight

No brakes on go cart?
I'm not sure why they did this. They had driven up the far street earlier with the engine working. However, they coasted down the far street to this corner and stopped. Then the driver of the Go-Kart went over to the kid on the bike and pulled the extension cord out of his backpack. That's when this video starts.

For some reason that escapes me right now, but I think they're future junior high school dropouts. :idk:

Felt sorry for the kid trying to tie the extension cord.
OMG....you can tell kid's never done something similar to this before or tied ANY knots before....and at his age? If he ever drives he'll definitely need AAA if he gets a flat.

A Go-Kart broke down across the street, so they decided to tie the 2 vehicles together with an extension cord and then coast down the hill.

Once upon a time a CHP officer gave us county workers a safety lecture about driving and one point he made stuck with me: accidents are rarely due to just one cause. For example, you can get away with following the car in front of you too closely if you're 1) not going very fast and 2) have a quick response time and 3) have good tires and 4) it's not raining. Change one factor....higher speed, poorer reaction time due to alcohol, drugs or distraction or poor pavement adhesion due to slick tires or rain.....and you've got a rear-end collision if the car in front of you stops quickly or unexpectedly.

In the case of the roadway drama scene of 3 kids, a go-kart and a mini-bike out after midnight, all it takes is a impaired driver or a texting driver coming down the road and you very well could wind up with 3 dead or seriously injured kids and a driver whose life is also changed forever in a terrible way.

One can only hope and pray the Lord watches over all of them until their skills develop and their judgement improves. I know He did with me.

Kid across from me seems to be partially challenged and still lives at home well later than we all did. But he has a knack for fixing small engines. He accumulates go-carts, dirt bikes and such. I came up on him riding after dark with out lights. We are rural without any street lights. I imagine he will be a statistic one day.

Reminds me of Karl in Sling Blade......
