I'm testing a new Dahua HFW2241TP and my BI recordings are completely filled with gray frames, these however don't appear on the live stream on Dahua's web client (main or sub).

Here are my stream settings

BlueIris is recording direct to disk with no hardware acceleration. Is there anything else I'm missing??

That model number you posted is not an IP camera.....typo? :idk:

That's the complete reference in my invoice IPC-HFW2241TP-ZS-27135. It's definitely an IP camera, gets powered on when connected to a PoE switch and I'm able to set it up, add it on BI, etc.

Yes, that IS a network camera in the complete model # as on the invoice but in your first post there was no "IPC" in the suffix you gave which denotes that it's an IP or network camera.

Thanks for the clarification....as a BI user I was confident that it was an IP camera.

That said, have you tried deleting the cam in BI then re-adding it?

The problem persisted after deleting and adding the camera. I noticed that I had the option "Record dual-streams if available" enabled. I disabled it and restarted the VM, now the playback is fine without resizing and gray frames.

For comparison, the Reolink cam with the option I mentioned uncheck still produces gray frames in the recorded file. This was a way for me to check that what I read online was accurate and that Reolink has some issues with their H265 codec on the 4K stream, now that the Dahua one plays as expected.

The video display in a virtual machine might behave different than on a physical computer, and BI may also behave a bit differently on virtual hardware than it does on a physical machine.
