Hey Guys, having an issue here that has me at a loss.. Got some cheap H.view cameras, HV-500E6A

i can connect the camera locally with blue iris and it works fine with the auto configuration, issue is when i port forward and try to access from outside the network

i set a static ip for the camera and assigned it to port 10123 on the outside 80 on the inside

when i use 73.139.58.234:10123 (remotely) it brings up the http gui for the camera and i can view through google chrome and adjust any settings, when i hit the auto setup in blue iris it pulls all the information, as it does when locally (below), but then no video shows up

when i set a static ip for the camera and assigned it to port 10123 on the outside and 10123 on the inside the port forward doesnt work and shows closed. im thinking something may be wrong with the router. (TP LINK AX21)

i just even tried this @ work on our network and did the 10123 / 10123 which shows the port open, still no luck..

(edit, login info removed, problem solved, had to also forward port 554 for the rtsp)

thanks

Did you setup your camera to work with that port as your TCP port? Normally setup to port 80, plus might need to make sure that port 554 is also forwarded for bi??

You should NOT be doing any port forwarding, very dangerous to your network.

I hope you realize the risk of having your camera on open ports to the outside internet! You have also publicly posted your internet address!

My guess was they were using a VPN or Tunnel so that was why I offered info about the RTSP port, I personally am against the idea of people having their systems open to the internet.. As i have a few times let others know of their systems being open and online as some just have no clue that they have been exposed..

thanks guys, wasnt worried about the details being on the net as this is just to monitor a rental property. I have since removed the login info.. problem solved.. thanks again
