H265+ hikvision

I am using h265+ encoding I've read an odd couple of articles that claim the compression can cause issues when playing back footage

Has anyone experienced this if so should I stick to h265?

Depends on how you are storing and reviewing the data. If you are using Blue Iris, then yes the + can cause problems.

Using a Hik NVR or SD card in the camera and it is probably fine.

The only way to know for sure is to try it and then see what the live and playback look like. Field of view and amount of activity in that field of view comes into play as well and everyone has a different camera field of view.
