It's been a while since I've bought hard drives. My last ones were a seagate enterprise and a wd purple. I think with all the AI on the camera now that it wouldn't matter so much on a specific surveillance drive as long as it can write fast enough and has a long endurance rating. I'm looking to get new ones for both a nvr and a blue iris setup. Any recommendations or what I should stay away from? Maybe Exos or iron wolf?
My current drives have been going strong for the last few years but they are only 4tb each.

If it works, I wouldn't fix it. IOW, since the Seagate Enterprise and WD Purple have served you well, I'd stick with them. Maybe include the Seagate surveillance-rated line, the Skyhawk.

I'm currently using four Western Digital WD101PURP drives. The Western Digital Purple drives in my previous NVR never let me down, either.

All enterprise disk are VERY VERY NOISY.. Especially from Seagate...
They have that metalic sound when heads moves over disk...

WD Purple are little slower.. But they are silent in comparison to Seagates..
