Hawk ambushes bald eagle.

In all of my years watching bald eagles that nest near me I’ve seen them go after hawks and osprey and run them off but never saw a hawk go after an eagle. This eagle was eating something when it happened.

Have you seen the adolescent eagles with the speckled marking over there? I'm not a skilled bird watcher. I was wondering if there was any chance that was another eagle? like a young family member?
I couldn't get a good look at the Hawk.
But we have 2-3 pairs of Nesting Eagles up at the lake every year that have young that sometimes look Hawkish when they are just starting to fly.
on second look I think it is a hawk........

We do have immature eagles and I'm familiar with how they look. I've been watching this nest near me since 2014 and this pair have raised 1-2 young every year. This was definitely a hawk. White underside.
