I just wanted to say thanks for all the contributions on this great site. I’ve been a daily lurker since last summer and you all have had a hand in fueling my growing addiction, haha. I’ve gone from a crude 4 cam D-link setup with spotty reliability and using port forwarding to my current 16 cam/BI/OpenVPN setup. Luckily I’ve been able to keep the wife happy and on board throughout all this, though she doesn’t know that I just bought another camera 
Not sure if this project will ever end as there is still so much to learn, but I couldn’t have gone down this road without the help from this place! I hope to be able to pay it forward at some point.
