I'm somewhat tech savvy, so I can usually find my way around a piece of electronic equipment. However, where I am lacking, increasingly, as I get older, is the ability to remember things. I purchased a used LaView (Hikvision) NVR, Model LV-N998932D6E used, from a gentleman on facebook marketplace awhile back. I set it up, got the old Admin password from him, and reset the password. Here is where the trouble starts. I got it out a few says ago, and decided to setup my cameras around my property.
I can't get into the menu, as I cannot remember the password I used when I set it up last summer. I've tried a few of the usual suspects that I would normally use, and so far no joy. I've downloaded the SADP app, and it sees the unit. I've tried using the "forgot password" link in the software, combined with the hikvision password reset tool that I found here in my searches. It doesnt give me the option to enter the generated token, and I don't have a file to import, nor do I know the files internal format. I've seen so many questions answered on here in my searching, and I'm sure that someone on here can save the day. :-)

Since you have physical access to the hardware, there is likely a factory reset method - usually pressing and holding a specific button or combination of buttons. Once it is factory reset, it will default back to the default password so you can login and change it to something secure.
