Hello All,

Ive recently bought a home and it came equipped with a Y-cam Bullet HD1080. So i started off terribly and battled to find the software. Contacted the vendor and it turned out that this particular version has been discontinued. See spec below

Model:
Y-cam Bullet HD1080

System up time:
0 Days 04:21:44

BIOS/Loader version:
2.1 (build 0002)

Firmware version:
5.67 (build 20140406)

ActiveX Control version:
1,2,6,1

they sent me a link to the software, https://www.y-cam.com/product-downloads-2/.
Now, it turns out that because im using a mac with El Capitan, i have a issue viewing anything because of some legacy plugins missing.

I was sent this link to fix the issue ttps://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT205081. I have not gone down this route yet, instead i wanted some assistance and input regarding alternative software that i could use. I would require something that plays well with iPhone/iPad/ Mac and the Y-Cam.

Id really appreciate any assistance!

Regards
PA.

There goes the neighbourhood. A Safa and a Mac user. :D. Welcome to the forums mate.

Try downloading Security Spy for Mac and see how you go with that. Its lists your camera as supported, and has a 30 day free trial. Downside is a pricey per camera licensing system. About 750 rand for one camera.

I have no personal experience with any of the software.

Alternatively get on gumtree/craigslist etc and see if you can get a cheap used I3 windows system and run blue iris on it.

welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately there are many cams that suffer bad support. Hopefully you will find another Y-cam member here, or return the camera for a refund and buy another brand that is better supported.
