Hi everyone,

Been out of the security cam game for about 2 yrs since I moved. Old cams were junk, so I am starting new. Hoping to do this right (somewhat at least) this time. Posting a new thread for optimization help.

Have a look in the Wiki, in the blue bar, at the top of the page. Tons of great information in there but read it on a computer, not a phone or tablet.

The "latest and greatest" is a 1/2.8" sensor for a 2MP camera and a 1/1.8" sensor for a 4MP camera. There are a few 8MP cameras with 1/1.2" sensors out already and more coming out very soon. Those sizes work best at those resolutions, both day and night.

Thank you everyone I will read the wiki later tonight. I am finishing up some ethernet runs and some conduit for some electrical runs for another project before the insulation crew comes and fills the attic with insulation. The stuff from the mid 70's is not doing so well.
