Hi, just introducing myself here. Some mischief in my neighborhood recently has made me decide to upgrade my home alarm system. I've got my camera layout planned, and I'm ready to buy some 4Mp Hikvision turrets. I've been playing around with a 3Mp dome camera. I'm kinda a computer nerd, I've got Blue Iris running on a spare VM on my Dell poweredge r710. I've also been acquiring some equipment in my rack to support this new addition. I built a bad ass 24 tb FreeNAS storage server in a supermicro rackmount chassis. I also just got a new gigabit POE switch. I've got plenty of cat5e already pulled around the house to connect the cameras. I'm really liking this forum, thanks for all the advice.
