Hey all, I've been lurker on your forums for awhile now; I just want to introduce myself and say thank you for all the advice!
I'm a resident of the great white north in a rural high crime area. Thanks to information gathered on this site and a few others I was able to build myself a relatively crude security system with Hikvision cams and Blue Iris software. In the two years I've had it in service it's responsible for putting 4 individuals behind bars, solving around a dozen open cases and completely thwarting one B&E. The local law enforcement is thoroughly impressed and I've been approached by many in the community to install systems for them... Not sure if I will but we shall see.
