This is my introduction thread simply so I can reach a high enough post count to send a PM. I recently bought a new home where I had the low voltage guys pre wire 6 locations for cams. I have never had a camera system before and I randomly came across these forums during my research. After reading much info here and elsewhere I have decided to go with a PC based Blue Iris system and probably a mix of the Hikvision Turrets 4MP - 2.8mm/4mm. I'd consider going all 4mm but depends on the price I'm trying to keep the entire system cost under $1,500.
