Hi,
I have used Blue Iris with Win 10 for the past few years with reolink cams. I have a new building and decided to do better, so ran cat cables for plenty of cams, and purchased new Hikvision DS-2CD2645FWD cameras.

For the life of me, I cannot get them talking with BI. It took my about an hour to find the IPs, I had to get that Sadp program to find them. I set them up and set new static IPs.

1. If I type the IP in the browser, nothing happens. I tried the IP followed by the port 8000 too. Tried with chrome and edge. I will note I currently do not have Internet access in this building if it matters?
2. Blue Iris does not detect the cameras. If I add a new camera using one of the IPs, it can't connect. I think the default port for Hikvision BI provides is 554?

Despite these being popular cameras (Hikvision as a whole), I can't find any info on installing them in BI without an NVR. These cameras are connected to a POE switch, which is connected to a patch panel going to the PC.

They will work just fine in BI without an NVR.

What is the IP of the computer you are on?

What is the IP of the cameras - hikvision default is 192.168.1.64

I suspect your computer is anything but 192.168.1.xxx and that is why you can't see them.

Unhook a computer or laptop from the internet and go into ethernet settings and using the IPv4 settings manually change the IP address to 192.168.1.100

Then power up your camera and wait a few minutes.

Then go to INTERNET EXPLORER (needs to be Explorer and not Edge or Chrome with IE tab) and type in 192.168.1.64 (IP of camera) and you will then access the camera.

Tell it your country and give it a user and password or whatever comes up when you first gain access.

Then go to the camera Network settings and change the camera IP address to the range of your system and hit save.

You will then lose the camera connection.

Then reverse the process to put your computer back on your network IP address range.

Next open up INTERNET EXPLORER and type in the new IP address that you just gave the camera to access it.

OR use the SADP tool, but most of us prefer the above as it is one less program needed and one less chance for the cameras to phone home or for something to get screwed up.

Thank you for your reply. I did use sadp and changed the IPs. I only have three cameras set up right now, the initial IP for all three was 192.168.1.64, and I changed all to 192.168.1.1-3. I don't know the PC IP just now, I don't have access to the PC until tomorrow, but it is something like 192.168.0.10.

I will try IE.

That would explain it - you put the cameras on 192.168.1.xx and your computer is 192.168.0.xx

You have to make the first 3 sets of numbers match, so if your system is 192.168.0.xx then put your camera on the 192.168.0.xx subnet and not the 192.168.1.xx subnet

Thanks, I will try that tomorrow and update.

That did not work. I updated all the IPs to 192.168.0.101 etc, and used IE, still nothing. The cameras all show active in sadp so I know they are working, also the Poe switch shows good connection LEDs and good power LEDs

I got it. For some reason, my PC changed it's up to some random address so it was on a totally different page than the cams. Sorry to waste everyone's time...
