Hi guys. Some times ago I bought a "Mini DVR" off AliExpress. The model is TI-AHD2804MN, the marking on the board is AHD-T4-3520D-6134C-ATWY V1.02 20171030 and the firmware version is V4.02.R11.F7600117.10001.131900.00000 (build date is 2017-11-08 15:54:27).
I noticed that there's an RS232 menu in the settings, despite no visible serial port. Turns out it's CN11 on the board, and in fact I confirmed it by soldering the header you can see in the photos.
In the RS232 menu I can chose the function between the followings: NONE, GPS, General, InteractCmd, Ranging, Transparent. Unfortunately all of them behave in the same way: I can see the boot sequence on startup (and interrupt it with Ctrl+C), but can't do anything after boot. No shell, no input.
My question is: is there a firmware I can flash to do something useful with the serial port? I was particularly interested in the GPS function, if it would allow me to record the position and speed alongside the video.
