Hey everyone,

Great community! I am just getting into the scene and trying to research as much as I can to help protect my family.

While I keep digging around I would appreciate if anyone has recommendations for an NVR system with 4 cameras to start for a budget under $400 to get me going (leaning to PoE sysmtes). From reading it appears that most of the Amazon etc systems are bunk and to look towards building my own package using HikVision, Dahua, and maybe BeSafe cameras.

Thanks for any input while I keep rolling up my sleeves.
 
Probably should add that these will be outdoor cameras and looking for the turret style that everyone recommends.

I suppose I could run software on a spare PC but dont have anything laying around powerful enough for BI at the moment. What are the other recommendations for software?
