I am a retired copier/computer tech & business owner. I don't appreciate the gov't kicking everything Dahua out of the country, I understand not wanting any gov't agencies using Dahua, but they always seem to forget about the normal folk. If China wants to see me using my cameras, I'll just moon 'em

I just watched the news that the hurricane has caused a lot of damage, resulting in over 220 fatalities, and hundreds of people are still missing. My prayers go out to the people there.

FWIW, you can still purchase and use the NDAA-banned devices in and around your private residences, businesses and property; only government-owned, operated or funded businesses and properties are required to not purchase or use NDAA-banned cameras and devices.

Additionally, a greater hazard exists other than just unauthorized viewing of the cameras; if compromised the cameras can be used to launch DoS (Denial of Service) attacks and/or viruses, etc. from the attached network.

Those numbers are very low. Expect well over 1000 dead.

I'm back & I survived Milton!! I decided to hunker down, since my roof is hurricane proof to 150 mph & so is my motorized rolling shutters, so I decided to ride it out... A tree came down on my property & my neighbors too! His damaged his roof, mine landed in the neighbors yard & took out part of a fence!
