Hi,

just an intro to my system. I have a dell OptiPlex 7040 with i7 6700, 16gb ram, Windows 10 running on a 256gb SSD. blue iris 5. New footage saves on to a local drive, using direct record on all cameras. Footage then gets stored to the NAS after 24hrs.

I have a 1080p Sunba illuminati PTZ auto tracking camera 20fps. auto parks after 1 minute 30 seconds
1080p wireless dome camera inside my van 15fps
1080p Amcrest AD110 doorbell 15fps
4k Amcrest 4mm bullet camera 20fps
4k Amcrest 6mm bullett camera 20fps
a linksys 16 port 8 + 8 Port Poe+ unmanaged switch
a linksys ea5000 that I am using In bridge mode as an access point for van cam and doorbell.

I have intel cpu vpp enabled and on all cameras, with the cpu idling at 30%
All cameras are recording 24/7 continuous, and all with motion triggers set.

I plan on adding two more cameras to finish the system off. Is my system ok from the specs and current performance I have provided? It seems to be happy enough.

I have an APC 1400 UPS, but need to get new battery’s for it.

Can anyone think of any other upgrades I could do with, or does my system Seem to be up to scratch?

You could probably get away with 15FPS on the Cameras. (Video comparison of various frame rates: People, Cars)

DNST, UPST are probably a bit too high, a simple baseball cap would probably obscure who's attacking your cars. PTZ is understandably high since its kind of an overview type of thing.

I didn't see how you are preventing the cameras from talking to the internet?
You can set a false gateway on the Cameras in the short term, but many people here either use a VLAN or the dual NIC method (both mentioned in the Wiki here).

+1^^ on the frame rate to 15, set frame interval also at 15.

How are your night time visuals?

I love streets that have really great street lighting so cam's can do color instead of b&w :)
Yeah, I'm jealous of his street lighting too. I'm also in suburbia and my street is nearly pitch black.

Surprising that 1 street light can have such a dramatic effect? Looking at the pictures there are no others around.
There is actually three street lights on that stretch of road. One right outside my house, two at the bottom of the street and one at the top of the street. Pics attached. The street lighting is pretty bright.1A2BB60F-C89A-4701-B640-3F858BC76507.jpeg1064CA07-A561-4AF6-BD04-572A0AEE59A5.jpeg

Unfortunately I can’t have them any lower, to avoid them getting stolen. The quality is still pretty clear under digital zoom.

New addition to the system, I have got all cameras running on their maximum performance. Maximum FPS, and worked out how to get the CPU to a minimum while still keeping the best quality and performance.DC9018A2-BFD4-4500-9AED-005335349917.jpegDA39D887-C22E-464F-8BBB-750114225102.jpeg6F455F40-1895-402A-8D17-68D2AAC66785.jpeg

is there a reason why your 3 x 8MP camera's are set at 30 FPS?
