I apologize upfront if this topic has been covered in another thread... Nothing that I can find though - here or on the web. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places...
Long story short - I've had Lorex since 2018 (NR908x, NR916x, NR932x, N863A6 and latest N884A6). I'm currently running the 884 with my original LNB8111x's (NR908x purchase), some replacement LNB9252's (are currently shipping with the N884A6 system), and bought some newer Lorex cams - E895AB and E910AB. My biggest complaint is not being able to select a 4K snapshot resolution (email alert) on the NVR for all cams. I can see (grayed out) different sizes with different models of cams. But the snapshot size in the NVR is inactive for all cam's connected. It does show me the size for each camera, which makes me think it's cam generated. Even if I browse to the cam itself (IP), it's inactive on all but one cam - and when I save, it doesn't stay.
I've made sure that all of the cams are updated to the latest Lorex F/W. This didn't change a thing with the snapshot size.
LNB8111B is 2.640.00LR000.20.R dated 2018-09-14
LNB9252B is 2.800.00LR000.11.R dated 2022-05-31
E895AB is 3.000.00LR000.7.R dated 2022-03-23
E910AB is 3.100.00LR000.3.R dated 2023-03-31
I contacted Lorex several times about this and other issues/complaints and, well, the 3 or 4 or 5 techs that I've talked to really have no clue. One will tell me it always sends the main stream size, while others say they always send 4K. When purchasing the newer E895/E910 cams, I couldn't find the snapshot resolution anywhere - even Lorex didn't know... so I bought them anyway. I have five E895's and one E910. It figures - the E895 only does 704x480. But the E910 does 3840x2160. My original 8111's also do the 3840x2160, so I was shocked to find the newer 4K cams only do 704x480 - including the 9252's that ship with the N884 in a system package today! It sucks trying to figure out who - or what car - is at the house with the crappy snapshots. I've always relied on the 4K email alert attachment to make decisions on [if] I should view the video.
FWIW, the E871AB sends a 4096x1856 because of its 180-degree view and 2x 5MP stitched sensors.
Please help. I've been reading about flashing the cams with Dahua firmware and thought I might try this. But I wanted to ask the experts here before going that route.
I have another issue with only the 9252's that I don't understand and Lorex doesn't have an answer for me... When an event occurs, about 1/2 the time it sends an email with no picture, then immediately another email with a picture. But during the process if the subject is moving (like a car), I get a picture that seems a tad later than normal where I can't see the event cause. If this double email doesn't happen, I get what I expect - the event cause is consistently close to the smart event definition. I've tried resetting the camera with no affect.
