New member here. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am in the process of starting a new home build and want to put in a good camera system. I am hoping to get some good advice and learn things.

My current house I have a Reolink 4k PoE system and it works but I turned off the motion alerts because I could not get them to work well.

Once you get a better system, you will realize how poor those Reolinks really were!

The Importance of Focal Length over MP in camera selection

The key to a new build is run more cables than you think you need. Try to run them at head height and not on the 2nd story.
