Hi all, just joined this forum to get some info about IP cameras before using them in bird nest boxes.
I have a couple of camera boxes in use at the moment using small analogue cameras but I think using IP cameras is the way forward after seeing the quality of picture of this

one in use.
My plan, if it's feasible, is to have an IP camera, linked to a router, either wired or wirelessly (without an internet connection) and view the pictures on my smartphone.
Our only internet is via a 3G wireless dongle, hence the need for a separate router with no internet.
The rest of the year, outside of the nesting season I would like to use the camera to record wild life in our garden, recording to an inbuilt memory card.
I hope this all makes sense and what I'm proposing is do-able and look forward to any comments or suggestions on cameras etc.
Regards
Jim

Welcome to the forum. I use a separate router too to keep the load off the home network/internet.
