My CCTV set up is a single Hikvision camera with external HDD. I have iVMS 4200 and the HDD is listed as DVR. I want to record locally on the HDD and view footage on either my MacBook Pro or iPhone. I also have the Hik Connect on my phone. Viewing through both the iVMS 4200 and phone, I can see the the protected area clearly. Also the trigger alarm is working. What isn't working is the recording! Can you explain - is my set up 'Remote' or Local'? I only want to store recordings on the external HDD - not on my laptop, not on my phone and not in the cloud.
