Hello we recently had installed hikvision cameras/nvr and I think we finally have it working pretty well. My husband decided to set up an alarm output so that if a smart event goes off we are alerted in the house if we are sleeping. Problem is now I keep getting 'home io alarm' push notifications even though nothing is triggering an alarm. Any thoughts on how to turn this off?? Its literally every minute which is going to drain my battery on my phone very fast! Thanks

For now go to your phone's notification settings and turn them off for that device and/or HikConnect app.
Then you can delve deeper into the issue with the NVR setup later.

Any thoughts on the cause? I would like to have my notifications back on to get other important alerts. I’m at a loss on what to try

I ran HIK NVR for 4 years and the whole time I kept thinking that if this is what the security camera industry had to offer then it was not too exciting, but I stuck with it as that is what I had, My wife formally tapped from the alerts after day 32 of incessant alerts. Being a guy that likes shiny toys I pressed on. Two years ago I moved to Blue Iris with AI and was so glad. No more false alerts. Game changer.
I hope you sort it out, I obsessively tried to get actionable alerts from my NVR but that never happened. I tried every setting possible, I am technical and will fiddle with anything. My wife’s brother owns his own computer service company and I had him review as well but in the end the number of false alerts was unbearable.

Yes we have definitely had false alerts for motion at times despite playing around with the sensitivity but this is just ridiculous! I blame my husband for adding the alarm lol it is literally unusable in its current state as I get the home up alarm every single minute. Meanwhile he gets no alerts on his phone ¯\(ツ)

Thats why you pay people who know how to setup system properly. Hikvision was never meant for end users to do configurations, im not saying they cant but overall marketing from hikvision was aiming at installers rather than end users.

This can be due to various things, firmware related, alarm output wiring, bad configuration, ect...

I'm sorry if my honesty hurt you.

We did have someone setup the system, but thanks for that very helpful feedback. I was trying to find a solution so I didn’t have to call them to come take a look
