I had been using IVMS-4500 on my iphone to view cameras and get push notifications of line crossings...I only use the iphone and camera access on my local IP domain. Now that IVMS-4500 is no longer supported it seems like the only choice is Hik-Connect. I learned that in visitor mode in HIk-Connect one can only view cameras, but can not receive push notifications - one must "Register and Account" to get all the features. I am a bit leery about registering since I don't know if that would somehow allow HikVision access to my home network including computers that are on the network, etc... Again, I only use the local IP domain where I can view cameras while at home. Not being tech savvy, it is possible that IVMS-4500 was no different from a security perspective despite not having to register.
Should I be concerned about my home network security if I "Register an Account" on Hik-Connect?
