Hi all,

I have HIK NVR 7716 POE version, a couple of dome cameras as well as an intercom and KH8301 touch screen.

I cant find much documentation on this setup and have a few questions i'm hoping someone could guide me on if they have a similar setup

1. Should I connect my Cameras + Intercom to NVR POE connections and have the NVR manage these on the separate POE VLAN/Subnet

2. Does the KH8301 7" Screen need to be on the same subnet / VLAN as the HIK Cameras so that it can have direct access to the cameras or could it gain access via virtual host function on the NVR?

The goal i'm looking to achieve is to have the KH8301 screen be able to see all the cameras connected to the NVR. I know this is possible but not sure on the limitations.

It would save me a lot of time knowing the best set up approach

Thanks all

Hi,

not that it will help you out much, but before doing an investment, it's sometimes wiser to see if documentation exists (or not). I tried to do my due diligence, and with the same requirements as you have (cams, intercom & touch screen to view all), I found zero on Hikvision back in the days, but tons on Dahua (but also bits and pieces). That's why I consolidated all my experiences in this topic: [Review] VTO2000A & VTH1550CH & VTNS1060A Intercom Kit

So to help you out, some googling results:
- touch screen KH8301: either 24 VDC, power over network cable (DS-KAD606-P) or 12VDC power adapter. With the POE: it gets power from the https://www.hikvision.com/uploadfil...AD606PVideoAudioDistributorV1.0.020171101.pdf video distributor.
- for the intercom: have a look whether (or not) it requires, just like the touch screen, to be connected to that distributor (I guess yes - see the specs): if it runs on "native" POE, your NVR would do fine, but I expect it to be on the distributor (just like with Dahua, the VTNS switch).
- Cams go on the NVR POE.

Now comes the fun part: "normally" NVR POE ports are "separated" from your LAN. Even if you could work with virtual host functions, local port forwarding or whatever trick in your sleeve, you can simply add your NVR onto the touch screen (see https://www.hikvision.com/uploadfil...rcomIndoorStationUserManualV1.4.020160827.pdf page 63). Whilest adding the NVR, you are prompted for the camera number (see figure 8.30) which ressembles the "channel" (read port where the cam is connected too).

And you might be able to record your intercom stuff on your NVR too, but that should not be too difficult either :p

So you see, there is a lot to find :) And it doesn't differ that much from Dahua!

Hope this helps!

Hi Catcamster thanks for the reply! I think i'm going to have to make a start in configuring this and see where I get stuck. Appreciate some of the links!
