Hi,

I have a Question, but first here is my setup.

* 16 Hikvision Camera's DS-2CD2032-I, Firmware V5.4.5 Build 170123
* WiFi Texas POE injectors
* 2 - 24 port Gigabit Switches
* Ubuntu 17 Server running NFS
* 8TB Stripped Raid mounted to Ubuntu Server
* Camera's record into their own folder. example, Cam1, Cam2, Cam3 and so on.

I just rebuilt the Ubuntu Server the last server I had to partition the 8TB drive into 16 partitions. I've read on the internet but have lost it that you don't have to partition the drive off for more than 1 camera. I'm trying to not partition the drive I'd rather just add all 16 camera's to 1 partition.

Just trying to find out if this can be done. From what I read from the site I lost is you can format the drive then add the other folders for each camera and you didn't need to format again.

Thanks,
Rick

Been ages since I've played with it (I write to SMB shares on my Win2016 server) but my recollection is you create mount points for each camera and have each mount point assigned a quota, so it appears to only be <1TB in size. As long as the camera "sees" the mount point as having a certain amount of space, it will work.
