I have several-older Hikvision IP cams, and I notice 2-3 randomly drop from the network. I use Synology software and with recent upgrade I just noticed this drop out, which may have been happening for longer but now the window for the cam freezes so it's very apparent. Please let me know what info may be needed to possibly troubleshoot.

Depending on age and environment you may be experiencing the results of corrosion on the RJ-45 connections where the cable plugs into the camera's pigtail or rodent or mechnical damage to the cable between your NVR or switch and the cameras.
I'd inspect those cable-to-pigtail connections initially to eliminate them so you can move on to something else, especially since you said "older......IP cams", I'm thinking the connections could be old as well.
