Hello,

Hoping someone can help me out. I've had this 4 camera Hikvision system running for years with no problems. The DVR is DS7604N1

Today i check the cameras and it shows all cameras offline. I check NVR via browser and its working but asks me to register again and all settings/users are gone.

After completing the register steps i can see cameras 1-4 in playback, and i can play back files from a few days ago, but i cant get the cameras to show in live view.

In the camera management tab on the NVR i see all 4 cameras with a error "username or password is wrong", i entered the right user/password but the status doesn't change. If i try to delete the cameras it says "no ip camera for deletion"

Is there something im missing here. Ive done a reset to factory settings and tried all the above again and still cant get the cameras to show.

Thanks

Sure you have the right IP addresses setup in your NVR? The IP address belongs to the U of T. I thought that was in Canada? If that isn't the correct Ip and not one that you entered is your NVR connected directly to the Internet where you have connect to your NVR over your WAN Ip? If it is I would look to see if someone didn't gain access and change your IP for your cameras? If that is the right IP address then maybe will want to contact the U of T Network Admin as they might have changed the Passwords for the cameras?

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm guessing you mean University of Toronto? That IP was the default upon logging in and setting up. It remained the same after i factory reset the NVR. I dont think anyone changed the IP.

I changed the ip and now the error is "Offline Network Abnormal"

I think i need to factory reset all my cameras so they can assign the correct IP?

Yes easiest way would be to Reset the cameras back to factory.. However if the NVR and cameras are talking there are some NVRs that have the ability to make change to the IP address.. Normally there would be an area where you can click next to the camera you want to connect to, Then make sure using the right password, click Modify Ip address and then add in the right Ip address range.. Also most times NVRs have Switch area in the Network for the NVR.. Changing that IP in the Switch to an Local Ip range like 10.1.1.xxx or 192.168.0.xxx or 172.16.x.xxx and then doing a reboot the NVR once online should have forced changed IPs for the cameras to the correct IP range. Just can't be the same as your local IP range.. Meaning if you use 10.0.0.xxx you can't make it 10.0.0.xxx range..
