Hello-

So I got five of these bullet cams from a friend several years ago, all appear to be brand new in box, model DS-2CD2021G1-IDW1. Only now in 2023 have I decided to play with them. :) These are exactly the same model as three existing cameras on my network. However, none of these five have an accessible web configuration page that can be accessed. SADP reports they are v5.5.800, build210628. I can ping their address at 192.168.1.68, and can see the device as ACTIVE on both SADP and see the live feed in the iVMS4200 client, however using IE11 (as I do on my existing three cams) I cannot bring up a configuration page at all. I just get a 404 error. Even using the iVMS4200 client to set these up gives me no options to do so (in SADP I can only modify network properties). I am confused and have no idea how to proceed. How does one go about setting up everything else? Anyone run into this before? I've been moving towards Reolink lately, so I may scrap these if no solution is found. If you can't help me but want them, make me an offer. Haha!

That doesn't sound right, it should be 192.168.1.64.

  • I'd disconnect all cams but ONE from power, I'd power it with either 12VDC or POE switch or injector, either power method insure cam is connected to the same LAN as your PC.
  • Remove the door to the SD card on that ONE cam and hold in the reset button for at least 10 seconds.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Attempt to log into that camera at 192.168.1.64 either with SADP or with a browser on a PC in the same subnet, such as 192.168.1.22, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, no gateway or DNS needed.

Thanks for your reply. What I ended up doing today while I had time was to reset the camera back to factory, then I connected it to a stand-alone router (my spare) with nothing else attached and found the camera to be at it's default of 192.168.1.64. Unfortunately, even though the camera is the only thing on this mock network, the web portal still will not load. I can ping the address no issues, I can see the camera with SADP, and make/save network changes, etc. I can even see it on the iVMS4200 client also (and see the live stream), but when an attempt is made to open the "advanced settings", there is a 404 Error as a reply. Same with IE11 (which works fine with my other identical cams). Logging to 192.168.1.64 yields the same 404 Errror. Very strange; first time I encountered this with this particular model. I have installed about thirty of these over the last 18 months and only encountered this problem with these five units. I am starting to think they're "special" in some way.

Use Internet explorer legacy mode or plain IE. If that doesnt work in long serial at the end do you have letter W that stands for web interface(i think), if not. Use batch configuraion tool to configure over device port 8000.

Cheers
