Hello,
I have a Hikvision DS-2CD2232-i5 that was flashed from Chinese to English years ago. The external power supply broke recently (water ingress). Now I have a new power supply (2A) but the camera won't start. If I unplug the network cable, the camera starts and I can plug the network cable back in and the camera works.
However, a restart is no longer possible afterwards. The camera only starts without a network cable.
If I install firmware, the camera also starts with a network cable and I can activate it with the SADP tool and assign an admin password. After that I can also set up the network. But after that the camera won't start. It then gets stuck in a boot loop.

Is there still hope for this camera?

See you then

There might, but considering this is camera that dates as early as hikvision IP started in 2012, i wouldnt spare as much time on it, as any time investing into that will cost more than camera itself. And after all it might not work anyway.
Spare yourself troubles and order new camera , my sincere opinion.

But to satisfy you with few suggestions that may be helpful.

If you do not have PoE run PoE and there's no need for 2A PS, it might boot that way.
If you do have PoE, remove poe as it may conflict with 2A hence not starting(due to other failues). And connect to non PoE port for network only.
Clean your network connector it might be bad contact due to corrosion.

Good luck!

Hello, I have now found the error. One of the switches involved had partially frozen.

Luckily I didn't throw away the good camera after all.

See you then
