Hello,

I recently purchased a dual lens hikvision IP camera to install on my Dahua dvr but I have a problem.I can setup the camera on the dahua dvr but it only shown 1 stream or channel when it should be showing 2 channels for the dual lens camera. Can someone help me with setting up this dual lens hikvision ip camera on my Dahua dvr?

You need to manually add the 2nd camera in. And you need to have availability on your NVR as well. For example, if you have an 8-channel NVR with 7 cameras already on it, this camera counts as 2, so only one channel can be seen.

I have 4 ip slots available. I add the camera and when I click the drop down it should show channel 1 and 2 but it only shown channel 1. I tried adding the IP address and camera a second time and all it will do is show channel 1 two times on my main screen. For some reason it’s not finding channel 2 and letting me choose to display channel 2 or camera 2. I tried Dahua tech support and they could not figure out what is going on. Both camera and dvr are on the latest firmware

Can you please share more information about the camera.

I do not have a dual lens camera nor Hikvision. I have only done something like this with a cheap AliExpress camera on my Dahua NVR.

My first thought is find the RTSP stream of the device for each camera stream. Then adding two cameras on the Dahua XVR and use each separate RTSP stream.

According to this link.
The stream format for Hikvision is: rtsp:/ [USER] : [PASS] @ [ADDRESS] : [RTSP PORT] /Streaming/Channels/ [CH] 0 [STREAM TYPE]

From this information I guess that the streams you want is:
Main streamSub stream
Camera 1rtsp:/admin:password@192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/101 rtsp:/admin:password@192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/102
Camera 2rtsp:/admin:password@192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/201 rtsp:/admin:password@192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/202
When you use manual add on a Dahua NVR you should select general and enter the main/sub streams.

I'm thinking in the RTSP stream URL that you might want to take out the username/password. Then enter the cameras username/password in the XVR field.
rtsp:/192.168.1.100:554/Channels/[camera] 0 [stream]

I found it just speed up the time taken to load when the NVR is switching between main/sub streams on the display out.

Thanks for th information. The camera is a hikvision DS-2CD6D82G0-IHS
this is a dual 8mp ethernet camera with POE for power. From my understanding I should be able to setup the camera on the Dahua DVR in the IP section and choose channel 1 and then setup the camera again with the same information but choose channel 2 for the second lens. this should give me two windows with each lens. when i setup the first camera it says "total channels 1" and it should say 2 but it's not. I am using standard ONVIF protocol when setting up this camera. im choosing ONVIF when setting up the camera not RTSP. im not even sure where to find the RTSP stream address for both streams in the camera. i dont think it has a RTSP stream just the ONVIF protocol.

I called hikvision and they were completely useless. Dahua tried to help but like I said, when i setup the camera in the Dahua dvr it only shows "total channels 1" when it should show total channels 2

Like the image I posted, set the camera to 'general'. Then the field boxes for 'main stream' and 'sub stream' will show.

ok ill give that a try. I assume I can get the main and sub RTSP address from the web interface of the camera??
I guess they are the URL's I said in the post for each camera.

Try these URL's first. Make sure each camera entry has a main stream and sub stream added.
Change these URL's from saying 'admin' and 'password' to what ever username and password the camera has.
