Hikvision night mode

We have a hikvision system installed in our home and one of our cameras has recently started playing up in night vision mode.

We’ve replaced the cable but it still doesn’t work.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the message that shows on screen.

Is there a simple solution please?

Perhaps the light sensor is covered in dust or by something else. Can you confirm the sensor which is usually clean?

Did lighting change and the camera thinks there is more light than there is or maybe the infrared or white LED (since you didn't say which model) went out, or maybe the sensor that detects light went out.

Hi, its a hikvision 5mp DS-2cE56HOT-IT3E
I believe it’s an infrared camera. It works fine in daylight or when the lights are on. Just in darkness.
It was working fine until recently. We had an issue with another camera so to see what the problem was with that one we swapped them over.
When we swapped them back this problem occurred.

When it is dark out, see if you see the red infrared lights when looking straight back at the camera.

If not, either the sensor or infrared went out (cheaper to replace camera than repair) or you somehow changed a setting in the camera and it isn't switching to B/W infrared mode.

Hi, the infrared lights are on. But flick on/off. Which ties in with what pictures it shows. I’ll try to show you

Looks like just coincidental timing that the light sensor went out.

Since it is a small area, you could look at turning the IR off on the camera and buying a cheap infrared illuminator to use instead.
