Hi I'm using IVMS 4500 on my iPad and iPhone, I was able to access it yesterday and before yesterday, but when I try doing a live stream via the devices it says this device is not registered in the DDNS, I am able to access the NVR via the browser but not from the app. On the HIK-online website it says offline

any ideas what might be causing the issue

kind regards

Port forwarding has been setup, it was working earlier for some reason it has stopped. Currently in not near it but will have a check in the morning before going to work, I have tried checking which ports are open before I started this thread and 80 is open, 443 is blocked. I will check the port forwarding section.

the internet did go off that day so don't know if the router needs restarting. I have restarted the NVR remotely but seems the issue still persists. Most likely it will be the ports, will update as soon as I have more info

I think yesterday they had some issues with the Hik DDNS service. I got some complaints from a customers not able to reach the service. Now it seems to work OK.

I really like dynu.com they have a free dynamic DNS service that's really easy to use!

Yes it must have been an issue at their end, it seems ok today.

Is there an alternative to the DDNS service, in the event something like this happens I would like to have a backdrop just in case this occurs again.

Yes, there're a lot alternatives, but you either have to:
- have another Hik device to set it to a different DDNS provider.
- have a router, supporting DDNS services.
- PC in your network with DDNS client installed.
