I will be adding a Hikvision DS-2CD2347G1-LU camera to my setup, using DS-7616NI-I2/16P NVR.

I want to use the microphone on the camera both live and recorded.

However, I don't want all users to have access to the audio.

Under user management on the NVR there is an option for:

Remote: PTZ Control

When granting PTZ control, I can define what cameras a user has access to individually.

I see this option:

Remote: Two-way Audio

There is no option to control permissions per camera.

If I grant someone access to Two-way Audio, what am I granting them access to? There is no two way audio in my setup, it would just be from the Colorview cameras or an external microphone on cameras but I want to figure out how to grant camera access but no audio access.

I don't have the camera/microphones added to the NVR yet, which is why I can't just test it... looking to know if anyone knows how to restrict audio access before installing.

Possible?

Two way audio is exactly like it sounds. You will have mic and speaker connected to camera. Then you can use the client software, app on phone, etc to talk to the person at the camera location. What you can do it create a new user on your NVR. Then select what permissions you would like to give them. You will use one account so probably the admin so you have all the rights. The other user accounts will have the limitations/permissions that you grant them access to.
