Reminds me of seeing dogs and cats doing the same thing.

True, see dogs do it a lot ....and I see birds fluttering their wings in dirt very often, I've been told to discourage mites.

Think about how much work it will be to brush the coat of that horse. They normally do that because they're itchy I think, just like we scratch our backs on a corner post.
