I have a Dahua Imou IPC-S41F camera, and i want to control it using a web browser. The camera has no web interface by itself, so i've tried some external software, but none of them seems to work fine.
I want to make the camera public, so that anyone can control it using PTZ and see the camera's output.
Blue Iris: paid and no free version
iSpy: closest to my requirements, but i can create max. 1 user in free version. So i can't create a public user, because there has to be at least one admin account.
Zoneminder: rtsp stream works, but i can't find a way to control the PTZ. Spent almost 12 hours trying to find the correct onvif parameters for the PTZ, but i gave up.
MotionEye: rtsp stream is glitching and ptz is not even working.
Shinobi: doesn't have any option to setup onvif or ptz
Frigate: can't install on debian. Tried multiple ways, but i can't access the web interface
Please help me to somehow make it so that i can control and view the camera using a web interface. It doesn't have to be an NVR software, anything is ok. I just need PTZ, ONVIF, and RTSP.
Thanks!!

Have you tried ODM to see if you can, in fact, control the PTZ?

Yes. The camera has PTZ.
I can control it using the Imou app on phone, but i don't want that.
I could also control the PTZ with iSpy, because it auto-found the configuration for the PTZ. Problem with ispy is that i cannot create more than 1 user, so i can't use it as public

You said in your first post "Blue Iris: paid and no free version." So I ask...why not just buy it and end your search?
  • IMO, it's a worth A LOT more than what is charged to be able to do what you want.
  • One time fee, no subscription.
  • Set up dozens of users, be able to limit what they can and cannot view or control, limit how long they can remain logged in,...and the list goes on and on what you can do with Blue Iris.
  • They can use a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Brave, Edge, etc.) to log in to the Blue Iris server, view video stream and operate PTZ.
  • Also lots of support here on IPCT from many satisfied users.

Just forget I mentioned it, I'm not going to waste MY time answering you if that requires an explanation.
My time is more valuable to me than your time is to you apparently.
But it's YOUR time so just keep looking, friend.

maybe the public should pay for the camera and the software
Time =Money

If it adds value for you, that's a reason. If it adds value for others and you want to be charitable, that's a reason. If neither, it's probably not worth it. Maybe BI would be willing to donate a license for this? Just thinking out loud, I know nothing.

You can check out a few other open source ones, not sure if they have PTZ ability, like: Feniks NVR, Moonfire NVR, Viseron, BashNVR, Simple NVR, DeepCamera, etc., just search github.

12 hours for......what? To NOT spend $75 for something that will meet all your requirements and works? :lmao:

You forgot "FREE".... :thumb:
