How do you detect rodents?

Rat poop on the garage door.
Rat poop in the air filter.

It's time to take care of that before it becomes expensive to fix.

I set up an ultrasound thing under the hood and a camera in the garage to see if it's efficacious.

Motion only can take care of under the hood but not garage.

But the stock Yolov5 that comes with CodeProject-AI 2.2.4 only has cats and dogs.

I saw it was in the BI AI forum and the AI setting screenshot but I’d be more worried about catching them with a trap than a camera

Recently a few days ago my BI just prior to 5.9.9.11 that I I use now, and Code Project just prior to 5.9.50 was able t detected a rat near our back door after dark. I have BI triggers set at Min obj size 100, Min contrast 12, Make time 0.3 and leave CodeProject ipcam-general and ipcam-dark to filter out any false positives.

Subsequently I set a rat trap inside our garage door should the critter venture inside but nothing so afar after several days.

A few years ago before I had CCTV I was painting the garage doors and left them slightly ajar overnight whilst the paint was drying. We had a rat come inside and was able to access the cavity wall because I'd left a hole when doing some house wiring for a PIR. I could hear it for several days before it presumably died in there.

edit: Sorry I have just checked, the rat did not rigger the PIR neither did Code Project create an alert, I was watching Blue Iris and did see the rat cause a trigger.
