How does a ship break in half?

Made in China?

I think the Edmund Fitzgerald is broken in two also.....1200px-EDMUND_FITZGERALD_Model_of_Wreck,_displayed_at_Duluth_Marine_Museum.jpg

Surprisingly the ship was not too old, built in 2008

I did a study on this years ago and all it takes is a rouge combination of waves which lift both the hull and stern up but leave the middle of the ship upsupported. It’s supposed to be like a million to one chance but can happen, add to this if the ship is badly or unevenly loaded and the risk increases.
