First time poster, so excuse if this question is a repeat.
For many years I've had d-link IP cams at my home. These d-link cams were acceptable because of d-link's website "mydlink.com" where all the cams can be viewed, clips played, clips can be deleted easily, and settings changed.
Two months ago a software developer recommended Hikvision mostly because of reliable and consistent H.264. I am hooked on Hikvision. So much better video than d-link. Thus I'm changing over to the cube Hikvision 3-4MP cams. A found a fantastic place which provides excellent pricing and excellent support/help.
Using Guarding Expert with port forwarding when no home, and then the usual web interface while home.
PROBLEM: How to access the SD card files while the SD card is still in the camera? For instance, if one would like to delete just one day or a block of hours in one day. D-link interface can do this, but the support agents are unaware of how to do this with Hikvision. Saw a web page about FTP to this camera, but it wasn't clear that FTP would work, nor am I smart enough to set it up.
