how to get snapshot off nvr

hi

NVR4104HS-P-EI

i can get snapshot on the live screen via momentary menu at top of screen , this saves to the inserted zipdrive (9 it warns me if no zipdrive ) BUT
on playback paused the snapshot button ( at bottom of screen ) doesnt seem to do anything

ps the scissors work to record movie clip but cannot get a single jpg or png

all above is done inside the nvr not via internet explorer

You need to access the NVR through the web interface

the snapshot button is on the nvr gui which is convenient as thats where im reviewing stuff , but the snapshot button is not there on the web view version

It is if you use the right browser. IE or Edge in IE mode

One with 3 black squares is IE in " IE mode", other is chrome, but only the direct nvr has the snapshot button. I have the nvr on my table so just want the nvr snapshot button to work ... Sending it to the zip drive

In edge or any browser that works the snapshot button is on the window itself.. There are some that are under like in your 3rd image but most of them are in the top see picture below where the red arrow is..

flaming heck thats a mighty small icon , but u r right it does do it large & detailed with stats - cheers BUT
being picky thats not my ideal way , is the one i show at bottom of nvr just a dumb unuseable icon , cos it would be WAY MORE easy if i could get that to work

Yeah I hate to say it but even my newer NVRs GUI seems to be broken.. On my other DVR/NVRs it does work with older FW. But seems that the current FW for my machine I made that image of when there is a Thumb Drive Plugged in normally if you click that button it would take a picture. However it didn't work. So I took drive and installed in a different machine and was able to press the snapshot and it was saved to my Thumb drive. I don't normally use that option seeing my devices save images on events and take from that or just take snapshots off the WebUI.. When I don't have a Thumb Drive installed the icon is there on GUI but not lit. After installing Thumbdrive it did lite up but didn't do anything when I clicked it. However if I am on a live view and click it there is an image saved.. So i don't know it is strange it works on Live but not playback.. I might go back a few FW installs ago and see if it has ever worked on this machine. The machine I am using is an Ultra E1 machine. All my other older machines the option still is working with a thumb drive installed. Guess until a new update comes out that works a way around this is using WebUI, or backup form an event if you have snapshots enabled.. Also if you have not turned off full time snapshots then you have loads of them already on your NVRs HDD... I thought I turned off full time on all my channels but guess I got distracted after the last Reset and just found out that for the last 3 weeks all channels besides ch1 were all recording a snapshot a second.. I have now fixed that as I only want events to record a snapshot..

Yeah the top of screen one on live view called "manual snapshot "works , but bottom of screen one called "snapshot" seems not to be programmed ?

How does one figure out if the snapshots are full time or just on events?

When using the windows gui, if the display resolution is good enough it's pretty easy to use the windows snipping tool.

So if you go into the Storage and schedule area of the NVR then click on Snapshot. There is full time normally scheduled by default. So for me I remove the full time and add in motion, alarm and IVS.. Then normally I click copy and do the same for the rest of the channels. This last time I did it only for ch1, must have got called away and when returned to screen forgot it was not set for all.. Anyway once you get it set save and all should be good. However if you wanted full time then leave it but doing so will fill up a HDD rather fast.. So first picture is how I have my system setup.. In the second picture is what it was setup for, I started to do it 1 day at a time but a lot of work then i hit the Default button and that it what my NVR was setup for out of the box.. So for me I always change them from full time to events only..
