Hello

I have a relatively inexpensive camera from Nelly's Security a few years ago, it is an R-Series M5T-NC 5MP, it has two white lights on the front that are linked into it motion detection to act as a deterrence when motion is detected, on the web page of the live camera view there is a light bulb symbol that has a popup that says "Warning Light", if I click the light bulb icon it will toggle on and off the white light, I am looking for a way that I can do this from within the BI software, on the PTZ screen below the camera there is a light bulb icon that say "Light" when I hover my mouse over it, unfortunately this does not turn the light on the camera on and off. Can this be configure to turn the light on/off, any one have any suggestions on how to make this work?

With all the additional features being added to cameras, BI cannot address every one of those features natively.

I believe that "light" is for infrared and I am not aware of the end user being able to change the command for what that does. And it may not work for every camera. I never touch it.

Best bet would be find out the API command for the lights and then set it up as a script in BI.

The lights on the camera are a pair of Bright white LED's, (bright white visible light), the camera does also have infrared LED's for night vision, I can try to see if I can find any info for API calls, but it is a model that Nelly's no longer carries, possibly due to poor quality of the r-series that they used to carry! Do you know what the light bulb icon in BI is supposed to do, the help file mentions (lights) but no details on the purpose?

The light bulb icon is to turn IR on and off for cameras that support that feature.

But many have said doing that and then the camera doesn't auto turn on anymore. You have to long hold it or something.

It is a feature that I am sure benefits a few select people or specific instance, but for most people it is one of the many options in BI that it is best to just not touch and leave alone.
