how to remotely access another computer

whats is best practice to connect home pc with work pc on w7...is Remote Desktop good enough or there is something better?

Yep, Teamviewer will be your best bet. RDP would work as well but you'd have to go through hoops to all for remote access over the Internet (port forwarding, etc) where as TeamViewer will pretty much work right out of the box. You also won't have to do any port forwarding to use TeamViewer and they use their own servers for discovery/relay.
