How to trigger PTZ with VTO

Is there a way to trigger a PTZ when the button is pushed on a VTO?

My VTO is at the street and there's a lot of foot traffic. It would be less than ideal to use IVS or MD to move the PTZ when someone is directly in front of the VTO.

The "home" preset for the PTZ will not be pointed at the area in front of the VTO.

Any suggestions?

I'm not using BI and have no plans to do so. I'm looking at Shinobi right now. But that will take a lot tweaking.

I'm using a Dahua NVR right now (DHI-NVR4216-16P-4KS). Unfortunately, the VTO doorbell button press doesn't seem to produce any kind of trigger that I can use to send the PTZ to a preset (or tour, whatever). It looks like the VTO doorbell button press goes straight to the VTH which doesn't generate any kind of trigger that the NVR either.

None of my spotter cams would be able to separate foot traffic from someone who's ringing the doorbell. Well, my N85EFN2 has loitering detection but I can't use IVS (loitering detection is an IVS function) while using the same camera for face detection. And I'm not sure how well loitering detection could isolate a person with people walking inches away from them.

It's not absolutely critical but it would be ideal to have the PTZ swing around and focus on the VTO when the button is pressed. It would be intimidating at the least!

PTZ is arriving Friday. I've scoured the settings and manual for the VTO and I can't find kind of trigger. Seems like the NVR just records the video and audio from the VTO but doesn't record any events (button press, etc).

Today in the office we tried to assemble such a system. Unfortunately, you can only try to set up a motion detector for VTO (sensitivity, detection area) to set up a PTZ camera preset binding when a person appears in front of the VTO. Another option is to install some security sensor in front of the VTO and connect it to the alarm input of the NVR. Or you can use the free version of DSS EXPRESS, as I wrote above.

I've tried setting motion on the VTO using the NVR (VTO web interface doesn't have that option) but it doesn't take.

This isn't a huge deal but would have been nice to have the PTZ swing over when someone pushes the VTO button.

VTO uses SIP protocol.
If you want to link PTZ, only use alarm input.

I've gone over all the settings and scoured the documentation.

I'm not seeing alarm input anywhere for a button activation.

I think I see what you're saying. I'd have to use a door switch hooked up the VTO to trigger the PTZ.

Need to do some more research.
