I have been looking for a suitable doorbell / at least video at my door for quit al long time now,
My demands are not that weird (imho) but apparently it is quit difficult to find the right one, so many choices...
My demands are:
- PoE or use power cables existing outdoor light
- No obligated cloud subscription, and an 100% local data storage. Could be with Blue Iris (i own BI4), or my own Nextcloud server or FTP/SMB (for example) or a NVR. I have created a seperate vLAN for the cameras.
- Live feed directly accessible not by using the brand website (the way netatmo does it)
- ONVIF/IFTTT
- at least Full HD (2MP / 4MP)
- 2 way audio would be nice, but not a must
- IP65 (and IK11 would be nice)
- wide angle is probably best (100/105 degree + i think...)
- max 300/400 euro
There are soooo many cameras, i simply cannot decide which one would be best suitable in this use case.
I have looked at:
- Netatmo Presence NOC01-EU (No go, you need their website for live feed. Plus from every recording 1 photo is uploaded to their servers)
- Ring etc. (No go, take your pick why not
)
- Dahua doorbells (No go, need their servers for push to phone message)
- Unifi doorbell (not at the market yet)
- Anker/Eufy (No go, needs connecting to their servers)
I think i am going to go for a normal IP camera. But which one.... I have looked at several and ik simply cannot decide. They all share so much technology, the difference is sometimes pretty hard to find.
