I am looking for my first PTZ camera. I am considering the DS-2DE7184-A but rather than say poe+ it shows as "High-POE". Is there a difference and what am I looking at as far as install options if it's different than POE+? Getting ac to my mounting location will be difficult. I currently use a standard POE switch.

On a side note has anyone used the auto tracking feature available on the Pro series and do you think it would be worth it? I use a synology as my NVR and was wondering if autotracking would be something the camera would handle much like motion detection so I would be able to utilize it within Synology's Surveillance Station.

Thank you,
James

That is a very stupid way to list the specs, but the class for "High Power" PoE is 802.3at / AKA PoE+ (25.5W Max).. Its not too much of a leap in logic (blame poor translators) to claim that High-POE should be the same as PoE+ or 802.3.at... High-POE seems to be a term coined by a few IP camera manufacturers to mean the same as PoE+, Acti uses the term for it.

no idea on autotracking; I seen Dahua cams do autotracking and was very impressed.. if your spending this kind of money on a PTZ you should definitely check out what Dahua is offering.
