Hey guys,
I started my surveillance with my first dahua camera IPC-T5442T-ZE. Now I want to complete the setup, but I'm not sure about the selection of the new cameras.
Here is my overview

- Top Blue: Already installed Dahua

- Bottom Blue: Already installed Door Bell

  • Red: The terrace is between the windows, I'm not sure, if I should use a camera with to lenses or one with a moveable lens?
  • Purple: The view to the garage door is most important

What do you think, are the best cameras to complete my setup?

Try not to do too much with one camera. One camera cannot be the see all, do all.

You need to decide what you want coverage for and select the correct camera for the job.

Generally the smaller the focal length, the wider the image and the closer the subject needs to be to IDENTIFY.

Keep in mind the expected performance of the cameras. To identify someone with the 2.8mm lens that is popular in kit systems, someone would have to be within 13 feet of the camera, but realistically within 10 feet after you dial it in to your settings.

If the garage is important to you and getting coverage of any cars in the driveway, you should consider two cameras - one on either side of the garage angled in a crisscross fashion.
