Synopsis: Our workplace has a camera setup with Transcendent/Vitek DVR. They are trying to upgrade the storage from what we have currently (7 days back up) to 60 days backup. With Transcendent DVR, it seems impossible to backup data and import it post storage expansion.
I would like to break away from Transcendent DVR, as I have had issues with DVRs breaking down after 1-2yrs (Samsung DVRs) and having to search for a similar replacement DVR at my previous workplace.
So I would like to take this chance to break away from DVR dependency and host DVR on self-hosted rack server/standalone server. We have new servers with ample storage and frankly better resources to host BLUE IRIS software.
