Hello,
i have installed a IPC-HFW7842H-Z4.
  • on the cam i have enabled the KI function "Video Metadata"
  • on the DSS i have addet the event Tripwire (Human) and SMD(Human)
but if i am looking DeepXplore for revords i can´t find any results.
what are i am doing wrong?
 
Quick answer: you can only use one Smart Plan at the time.
So, either metadata or IVS.

One exception is if you're running a AI NVR, then you can let the NVR deal with IVS.

Video Metadata is great for counting vehicles etc and get plates. For "surveillance" purposes IVS is definitely what you should use.

What's the main purpose for this cam in ita location?

i would like to get the licence plate off cars and information about persons (color,male, female,...)

so i can use in the cam the option "meta data" and what do i need to use in DSS Express as Event Type?

What's the setup up, professional or at home? Do you have a NVR connected, what model?
Depending on your NVR it makes sense to subscribe to the NVR instead of the cameras.

Personally I dislike DSS Express and don't run it here (at my home). I prefer SmartPSS, it's way more light weight and easy to use.

For DMSS/SmartPSS you can subscribe on "license plate recognition". I'm not sure about a suitable alarm for people.

Edit: If you don't need the info as a notification the report function is pretty powerful (in Camera and NVR) and you can easily get the metadata you mention.

the software SmartPSS i have downloadet and also installed.

how do you use it? do you enable the "smart plan" only in the software or also an the cam?
 
Ok, do have an NVR as well? If yes, what model? Always set up this directly on the camera as it offers way more settings than via DSS or SmartPSS.

Here you'll see an example from my 7442H-Z4 (more or less the same as your camera).
What's most interesting is the report function from the NVR, this is a 5-series NVR.

It looks like the same on my Cam till 1:27.
I do not have a hardware NVR. I tried SmartPSS and DSS Express.
In DSS Express i can see the search option but there is no result.
 
The camera is the first part. The second part is in the NVR.
I will check tomorrow what possibilities there with only the camera.

I assume you have a sd-card in the camera?
If not, that's the first you should do.
