Excuse my ignorance, I went to go mount this camera yesterday and for the life of me I could not get that peace that the arrow below is pointing it to rotate.

I loosened up the set screw and I see that it allowed me to go up and down with it, but with out a rotate option I will not be able to sight in the camera correctly?

Am i dumbass or is this just how the cameras model is?

yes, I known this mounting pain with this camera model and included junction box

To rotate the camera to the mount in this system, you need to loosen the 3 inner/backside screws (the ones on the larger circle, not smaller one).

ps. be aware that if you use included Dahua keys on the big screw outside, You can screw and unscrew it two max three times..
after that the big screw stops gripping

Oh my god thank you!, I was loosing my mind on this camera. Even down to how it screws to the wall.

What would you recommend to use on the screw to tighten/untighten? What size are the screws? I'm planning on getting one of these so would like to be prepared.

I have some profesional Torx keys set, with many sizes..

besides the mounting, it appears I can only create one lane line?

and then only be able to select front or rear of car

If You talk about ANPR Smart Plan - I don't use it...
Change to Video Meta Data (with AcuPick disabled)...

motor vehicle with ANPR records / non motor vehicle will work for any place of image / lane both front and back car..
Also You will got humans and faces..

Everything easy to search in AI Search -> humans / faces / motor vehicles / non motor vehicles on any 5xxx NVR...

those below screen shots are from 5442-S3 which have limited AI power - so there is no ANPR (OCR'ed plate number), on 7442-X You will got this plus some extra attributes..
