I am a Dahua camera enthusiast. I purchased 4 of these Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO cameras: 2x 3.6mm and 2x 2.8mm.
Over the standard Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV (S4) camera, these have better slightly better audio and the picture is ever sharper with detail. The 1/1.8" CMOS Image Sensor is what accounts for the sharper picture. I will definitely want all of my future camera buys to be at least 1/1.8" image sensors, if I can help it.
I do suspect that with newer cameras having such bad audio and also having "noise filtering" is a gimmick. I get better audio on older cameras which don't have "noise filtering" gimmicks.
It has the AcuPick function, which when you program the camera to take snapshots with IVS or SMD motion events, it will crop out just to the detected target on some (or most) snapshots.
Also, over the S4 version, you can use the AI Codec with CBR, VBR or the new ABR. S4 only allowed for CBR with the AI Codec.
I have not yet installed either of the two 3.6mm cameras, but I know I will be this week if weather permits. With most of my cameras having been used for area detection, the 3.6mm lenses should offer up sharp details in a narrow view.
The night time color vision looks nicer and more clear. And the other thing I have noticed is with this camera, the substream #2 is now offering resolutions up to 1080p.
Any questions? I will try to share what I know.
